Indian Certificate of Secondary education (ICSI) is one of the exams that are conducted by the Council of the Indian School Certificate Examination for class 10 that is considered as a private board of school education in India. The main target of this board is to provide general education via a medium that follows a particular syllabus and format. The subjects in the ICSE are divided in two parts where the first parts consists of courses like arts, physical education , moral education or productive  works related to socially awareness, spiritual value and a third language. The second part of the subject list consists of two groups where group 1 is related to subjects like English, history, civics and geography. Those students who are interested to opt any other subjects have the choice to select any two subjects from mathematics, science, economics, commercial studies, technical drawing, modern languages, computer science, environmental studies or agriculture science. The third group has the lost of all those subjects like computer application, economic application and commercial application, out of which the student is required to select any one of them. While comparing the weight age of marks in term of the syllabus content, the marks allotted to group 1 is quite higher than group 2, so basically, if the student who is willing to score good grade in the examination are required to focus their attention more on group 2 rather than group 1 that holds high marks.

The candidates are required to complete these courses to qualify for the next class Class 10 under ICSE. The main purpose of ICSE class 10 books is to provide proper and reliable content that is suitable for the students with respect to the syllabus that is developed by CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations). This will improve the knowledge level for the students and make them more aware of the topics in detail so that it can be useful for students while in the examination.
